Alia Bhatt’s mum Soni Razdan has come out in support of Rhea Chakarborty. Soni tweeted that Rhea’s time in jail “clearly exposed the people who sent her there”, referring to her public vilification and imprisonment after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide. The actress took to Twitter and responded to a series of tweets by designer Farak Khan Ali, who was questioning Arnab Goswami's WhatsApp chat leak. Rhea is out on bail after spending almost a month in jail on a drug-related charge.

Soni replied to a tweet by author Shunali Khullar Shroff, who felt that Rhea had lost any chance at a career in Bollywood. The author tweeted, “She went to jail and has possibly lost any chance at a career in Bollywood. Let's see what happens to Arnab. Not sure anything will.”

However, Soni Razdan not only hopes Rhea “will do very well”, but added that “she was an innocent victim of a very twisted design.”

Referring to the news of Arnab Goswami’s leaked WatsApp chat, Farah tweeted, “I hope Rhea Chakraborty is having the last laugh with #ArnabGates The man tried to destroy her and did not succeed, but he surely destroyed his own reputation.”

Asking people to help each other, Rhea also asked them to drop a direct message to her and she will try to help them in whatever capacity that may be. Two weeks ago, Rhea had shared a hope-filled message with her fans. She shared a picture of herself dressed in a yellow kurta, reading poet 's collection of poems, Gitanjali. 'The question and the cry 'Oh, where?' melt into tears of a thousand streams and deluge the world with the flood of the assurance, 'I AM!' -- Rabindranath Tagore, Gitanjali #keepingthefaith,' she had written.

She was accused by Sushant's family for abetment to suicide and also siphoning off funds from the late actor. She was also named in the first Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) chargesheet along with her brother Showik in a drug-related probe into Sushant's death case. She was arrested last year and spent a month in Mumbai's Byculla jail in September last year in a drug-related charge.

Meanwhile, the actress is part of the film Chehre starring actors and . This is her first film release after Sushant's death. The actress was missing from the first poster and teaser of the film, which sparked off rumours of her being ousted from the project. However, she is part of the trailer.
